This gene encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. The cytochrome P450 proteins are monooxygenases which catalyze many reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids and other lipids. This enzyme is a hydroxylase that metabolizes arachidonic acid, docosahexaenoic acid, and other long chain fatty acids. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] Function: Catalyzes the hydroxylation of arachidonic acid, docosahexaenoic acid and other long chain fatty acids. May modulate the arachidonic acid signaling pathway and play a role in other fatty acid signaling processes. Subcellular Location: Endoplasmic reticulum membrane. Microsome membrane. Tissue Specificity: Widely expressed with stronger expression in thymus, heart and cerebellum. Similarity: Belongs to the cytochrome P450 family. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (Rat heart); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Antibody incubation with (CYP2U1) Polyclonal Antibody, Unconjugated (bs-14153R) at 1:400 overnight at 4°C, followed by operating according to SP Kit(Rabbit) (sp-0023) instructions and DAB staining.
