ELP3 is the catalytic subunit of the histone acetyltransferase elongator complex, which contributes to transcript elongation and also regulates the maturation of projection neurons (Creppe et al., 2009 [PubMed 19185337]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2009] Database links: Entrez Gene: 55140 Human Entrez Gene: 74195 Mouse SwissProt: Q9H9T3 Human SwissProt: Q9CZX0 Mouse RNA聚合酶II延伸复合体的催化tRNA乙酰转移酶亚基，是RNA聚合酶II（Pol II）全酶的组成部分，参与转录伸长。多个tRNA修饰需要拉伸配合物，包括mcm5U（5-甲氧基羰基甲基尿苷）、mcm5s2U（5-甲氧基羰基甲基-2-硫脲定）和ncm5U（5-氨基甲酰甲基尿苷）。在拉长复合物中，通过调节tRNAs中34位的摆动碱基中羧甲基尿苷的形成，充当tRNA尿苷（34）乙酰转移酶。也可以通过介导目标蛋白质的乙酰化而作为蛋白质赖氨酸乙酰转移酶。然而，这种活性在体内尚不清楚，最近的证据表明ELP3主要作为tRNA乙酰转移酶。还能参与神经发生，通过依赖于α-微管蛋白乙酰化的过程调节投射神经元在大脑皮层中的迁移和分支，也是发育中的大脑皮层中GJA1乙酰化所必需的。 |
